When a rodent attempts to traverse a gap plugged with a Sentinel Roll™, one of three detectable events occurs, each of which permanently alters the paper's observable state:

Gnaw displacement — the mouse chews to clear a path, fraying the fibers.

The science, demystified

Does the Sentinel Roll™ actually stop mice?

No, and it never claims to. It is a detector, not a barrier. Once it tells you which hole is active, you seal that hole with proper materials. The paper towel's job is knowledge, not defense.

Can't I just use my own paper towel?

You could, technically, in the same way you could technically build your own smartphone. Our premium sheets are selected for optimal chewability, visibility, and detection fidelity. But we respect your journey.

What if the paper is disturbed by something other than a mouse?

The three-ply architecture is specifically calibrated to minimize false positives from drafts and pets. In rare cases your cat may generate a detection event. Consider this a bonus feature.

Is there any electronics inside?
